In Docket No. 10-02-08, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, and the Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC) provided the Connecticut DPUC with a status report concerning the electric aggregator licensure of Turris Associates LLC and renewed their motion to immediately suspend Turris’ electric aggregator license in the state of Connecticut.
Blumenthal and the OCC (Joint Petitioners) stated that Raymond Sanzone, President and Managing Partner of Turris Associates LLC, and his firms’ conduct appears to show a consistent pattern of defrauding his clients for more than four years, and believe that Sanzone continues to solicit and engage new customers.
The Petitioners said that given Sanzone’s apparently consistent practice of defrauding his clients, the DPUC should not allow Sanzone to continue victimizing new customers under the blessing of his DPUC approved license as an electric aggregator.
Blumenthal wants the Department to promptly commence an investigation into all of Sanzone’s and Turris’ electricity supply contracts in the State of Connecticut to determine how many other customers may have been similarly defrauded.
In addition, the Petitioners said the Department should also issue an order to Hess Corp., Constellation and every other licensed electricity supplier in the State of Connecticut to withhold and escrow all outstanding commission payments received by Sanzone’s and Turris’ clients as security for repayment to all of the defrauded customers or other entities.
